Tutorial Seven
One definition of Assistive technology is that it is "the means to achieve the end" to provide communication, independence and inclusion. They are used for helping with ADL's, they can use a range of senses to operate (touch, voice). They assist with learning, education and work occupations.
The "big Mac" assistive recorders are used with children that can't communicate. A message can be recorded onto the "big mac" and this can be replayed by the push of a button. it is the size of a saucer (a plate), costings $60.00 approx. It primary functions as a prompting and communication, and voice recognition device.

Tutorial Six:

Photo.net is a site for serious photographers to connect with other photographers, explore photo galleries, discuss photography, share and critique photos and learn avout photography. 1993 was when the site originated.
Tutorial Four and Five:
There is a 30 minute film on 'Overcomin adversity' produced by myself and two classmates - Julie and Shaz - I'm sure there are many out there that can relate to the senario presented within this little clip. It sure can bring out the best in us!
Task 4. The services offered by You-tube are those that allow people to download infromation about so many different things - some good and some not so. Youtube has sparked must public debate - some just as good ... and some not so ... The educational information is good, but filming one doing crime is not so. Being able to share one's talents with the world is another good thing. Before it was National TV, and that was hard.
Task 5. The storyboarding and scripting aided our groups short film has it provided guidance with sequencing and editing each clip. For one that had no knowledge of film making this was a good lesson. It gave me confidence to have another go at making another film.

Task 1. An account with blogger has been set up.
Task 2. A template has been chosen - a nice pick one. Pink - a favorite colour in M.H.!!!
Task 3. Content is about to be posted !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Task 4. The services offered by Blogger are an on-line site where one can place their thoughts and photos. Others may log on and take part and interact and make comment to each other.

The grey cloud shot is taken over Port Taranaki (around by the Sugar Loaf Islands)- my home town.
The other four are shots taken at Gisborne - Feb 09.
Two of the shots are early morning (05:30hrs) shots and the shot over looking the roof tops, with the orange tones was taken about 06:00hrs, the morning I flew back to Hamilton.
These shots where taken on a new camera while taking one last break before starting my O.T. training, with a Nursing friend.
